Guidelines:
The Tablelands Walking Club Inc. adheres to a philosophy
of environmentally conscious minimum impact walking. The walk leader is responsible
for planning and directing walkers on the route to be followed. |
- All walkers must sign on and notify the walk leader of any difficulties or early
departures.
- Use marked trails and walk single
file to prevent track widening.
- Tracks may
be marked with tape.
- Do not break or cut foliage
unnecessarily and avoid treading on delicate plant life. Wait-a-while, lantana
and raspberry vine may be cleared from tracks with secateurs under the direction
of the walk leader.
- Do not light open fires
in rain forest or environmentally sensitive areas. Camp stoves may be used.
- Carry
out all rubbish including vegetable matter such as apple cores and orange peel.
- Walkers are advised against bringing dogs
on club activities as they are banned at many locations and can affect the enjoyment
of other walkers.
- With the sudden increase
in fuel prices, walkers are asked to consider offering to help out with costs
if you accept a lift to or from a Walk.
